Every time the summer comes around, I always start looking for summer activities to do with my kids.
Whether it’s something we can do together, or things they can do alone.
I have to keep them entertained so they don’t get too bored and so I can have some “me time”.
So, I created a list of a ton of things kids can do for the summer!
Here are 100+ Activities for you kids to do during the summer
20 Summer Activities for Toddlers:
- Water play with buckets and cups
- Sand play in a sandbox or at the beach
- Bubble blowing
- Picnic in the park

- Draw with chalk on the sidewalk

- Scavenger hunt: toss various items (like toys or coins) into the pool and have the kids search for them
- Pool noodle jousting: use pool noodles as “lances” and try to knock each other off inflatable rafts or pool floats
- Pool basketball: set up a basketball hoop on the edge of the pool and play a game of basketball in the water
- Relay races: race to see who can swim the fastest or dive for objects the quickest
- Underwater tea party: have kids sit at the bottom of the pool and pretend to have a tea party with submerged plastic tea cups and saucers

- Mini golf: set up a mini golf course using plastic cups or cones and have your toddler practice hitting the ball with a plastic golf club.
Tweens and Teens:
- Basketball: set up a basketball hoop and play a game of one-on-one or horse.
- Flag football: divide into teams and play a game of flag football.
- Tennis: set up a net and play a game of tennis with friends or family.
- Baseball: set up a baseball diamond and play a game of baseball or just practice throwing and catching.

- Ghost in the Graveyard (one person is “it” and hides while everyone else counts, then everyone tries to find the “ghost” and the last person to find them becomes “it” for the next round)
- Kick the Can (a variation of Hide and Seek where one person is “it” and tries to find everyone else, but if someone kicks the can before they are caught, everyone gets to go free)
- Flashlight Tag (a version of tag played at night with flashlights)
- Manhunt (similar to Hide and Seek, but played in teams)

- Red Light, Green Light (where one person is “it” and calls out “red light” or “green light” to control the other players’ movements)
- “Telephone” game (where one person whispers a message to someone else, who then passes it along until it reaches the last person, who says the message out loud)
