Every time the summer comes around, I always start looking for summer activities to do with my kids.

Whether it’s something we can do together, or things they can do alone.

I have to keep them entertained so they don’t get too bored and so I can have some “me time”.

So, I created a list of a ton of things kids can do for the summer!

Here are 100+ Activities for you kids to do during the summer

20 Summer Activities for Toddlers:

  2. Sand play in a sandbox or at the beach

  2. Pool volleyball: set up a net and play volleyball in the pool with a beach ball or a specially designed pool volleyball
  3. Cannonball contest
  4. Scavenger hunt: toss various items (like toys or coins) into the pool and have the kids search for them
  5. Pool noodle jousting: use pool noodles as “lances” and try to knock each other off inflatable rafts or pool floats
  6. Pool basketball: set up a basketball hoop on the edge of the pool and play a game of basketball in the water
  7. Relay races: race to see who can swim the fastest or dive for objects the quickest
  8. Underwater tea party: have kids sit at the bottom of the pool and pretend to have a tea party with submerged plastic tea cups and saucers
  9. Fish out of water: players take turns pretending to be a fish and swim across the pool while the other players try to tag them before they make it to the other side

  8. Beach bowling: set up a few empty plastic bottles and use a beach ball as a bowling ball to see who can knock down the most pins
  9. Beach bocce ball: set up a bocce ball court in the sand and play a game with friends or family
  10. Beach limbo: use a beach towel or jump rope as the limbo stick and see who can limbo the lowest.

Toddlers

  1. Mini soccer: set up a mini soccer goal and have your toddler practice kicking a soft ball into the goal.
  2. Softball toss: toss a soft ball back and forth with your toddler.
  3. Mini golf: set up a mini golf course using plastic cups or cones and have your toddler practice hitting the ball with a plastic golf club.

Tweens and Teens:

  1. Basketball: set up a basketball hoop and play a game of one-on-one or horse.
  2. Flag football: divide into teams and play a game of flag football.

  3. Kick the Can (a variation of Hide and Seek where one person is “it” and tries to find everyone else, but if someone kicks the can before they are caught, everyone gets to go free)
  4. Flashlight Tag (a version of tag played at night with flashlights)
  5. Manhunt (similar to Hide and Seek, but played in teams)

10 Creative Games To Play During The Summer

  1. Pillow fort building competition
  2. Balloon tennis
  3. Spoons (a card game where you try to get four of a kind without getting caught by other players)
  4. “The Floor is Lava” game (where you pretend the floor is lava and have to jump from furniture to furniture to avoid touching the “lava”)
  5. “What’s in the bag?” game (where you blindfold one person and have them guess what’s in a bag by feeling it)
  6. Hot Potato with a stuffed animal
  7. Freeze Dance (where you dance to music, but have to freeze when the music stops)

I plan on adding more to this list as time goes on.

But it’s loaded with different summer games for some good ol’ summer fun!
